Attention to detail and painterly strokes make the plein air paintings of Shawn Escott uniquely his own. From capturing sunrises and sunsets, to painting the light of a fleeting moment, Shawn enjoys chasing the effect of nature’s brilliance. His major influences are the American Impressionists, Plein Air Painters of America and many contemporary artists working today.
Shawn studied for a short time at the Lyme Academy of Art but is mostly self taught. He won first place at Plein Fun Fest, Plein Air Palm Beach 2016 First Inaugural Event. His work has been shown at Sotheby's International Realty, the Boca Raton Museum All Florida Exhibition, The Boca Raton Museum of Art School and The Cornell Museum.
Shawn teaches classes at the Boca Raton Museum of Art School and also holds workshops around South Florida. He was recently given the honor of being elected to the board of Plein Air Palm Beach, which has over 550 members.
In February 2017, Shawn was asked to be a juror of the Palm Beach Watercolor Society's 35th Anniversary Exhibition.
Shawn is currently a gallery owner/business partner at Papagallery in Boca Raton, FL, where he showcases his latest work for sale.
